Somebody graduated kindergarten

How is it that an entire year passed and you've ended your kindergarten year. I am officially devastated the I no longer have a baby girl. Pi, you speak so much Spanish at age 6 that I am completely lost when you speak to Mr Jeremy or Ana at the office. You've made so much friends and it amazes me how much you've learned. At this point, you can read what I have blogged and I am just such a proud mama.

You look like a young lady here. At this point in your life, you have your own sense of style and we've learned to let you have this freedom. You even wore the necklace I gave you.

Sra. Lopez. You just thought the world of her Pi. Im so glad she was your teacher and that we spent this year together in the same school. I thank God for working that out nicely for us.

You were super excited about your graduation. Can you tell?

This is with Sra. Lopez and Mr. Dixon. We also said farewell to Mr. Dixon since he's retiring this year.

Besties for life- Piper and Itzel

This might've been your very first crush Pi. You always tried to play with Jesus but he only wanted to play with boys. What can I say, boys are just way behind in maturity than us girls.

Good bye kindergarten. Hello first grade!

Farewell Auntie Kitaho

Before your Auntie Kitaho left for her 2 year commitment to Mongolia (Peace Corp),  we had a sleepover at our house. Celeste and Santiago came and even spent the night. You swam and played all day long. You even got to stay up waaaay past your bedtime.

Phoenix, you got cozy here with your Auntie Kitaho.

Dinner Time! Pi, you decided to dress appropriately for the occasion since it was Cinco De Mayo

Cute Niyah entertained herself with the balloon for a good amount of time.

Your lovely Auntie Chance prepared a big dinner for us that night. Thanks for your mad skills Auntie Chance.

Phoenix, you were so tired, you fell asleep in the middle of Sunday morning cartoons and Piper you took advantaged and watched TV AND the iPad. Overall, it was an awesome sleepover. "We will see you in 2 years Auntie Taco."  By then Phoenix, you'll really know how to say her name correctly.  .

Sore Butts

It was Ava's birthday and she had a Rainbow Brite skating party so naturally, we attended the festivities. After stuffing ourselves with pizza and eggrolls, we strapped on our skates and skated to LMFAO's "Party Rock."
It started out fine. Then... you got brave and let go of the railing.

Phoenix, you were a champ. You fell and fell and fell

and fell and fell.... yet you had a smile on you the whole time.

Pi, you were quite cold as you can tell with your layers. It was really nice to see you guys want to be independent and not hold on to your mommy and daddy's hand. It was nice also because we got to skate on our own.

Your First Wedding

You both went with us to you very first wedding. Catholic ceremonies although beautiful, can be very long. You did very well sitting and staying quiet. You only requested a potty break twice. At the reception, that's where the fun began.

First, a photo shoot outside as the newly weds take their own pictures.
Lola and Piper
The fun began when h'orderves were served. Pi, you couldn't get enough of the sliders.

This was so much fun. They had a photo booth and props so we took tons of pictures. Phoenix, notice how you're not smiling at the last picture? That's because you just fell from the stool. Piper, you never stopped smiling throughout the tragedy. You knew that the camera was continuous and you didn't want to risk a bad picture on account on checking in with your brother.  You're a true diva. As for you Phoenix, your "Uncle Guapo" and his girlfriend tried their very best to entertain and make you happy.

You were pooped at the end of the night. However, you still managed to get in a few dances "Cha Cha Real Smooth" and "Apple Bottom Jeans." What a fun day!

Hey Batta Batta! Swing Batta Batta

Go Padres!!!

This was your first T ball game and man was it funny. Piper, you did not want to bat first. You're #1 so you had to bat first but didnt want to be the guinea pig. After you got over the shock effect, you were great a catching ground balls.

Little Phoenix, at first, you watched the balls roll pass you and didnt move but when we "encouraged" you to get the balls, you were all over the field. You were supposed to play 2nd base but you left for 1st, 3rd, short stop even outfield. It was hilarious. You go Phoenix!

Of course there's time to pose for a photo during a game. You go Pi!

So the way T-ball works is everybody hits and no body is out. Of course your father says at the end of the game out loud, "Alright Padres, 1 and 0." You'll get used to him guys.

Phoenix, you were so focused but when asked to tag one of the opposing team, you refused. It simply was not nice. So cute.

Easter was great. You both got a present from the Easter bunny. Piper you got you 2 Wuggle Pets (with the kit of course, it's the only way it will come to life.) and Phoenix you got 1 Wuggle pet and a mace. We also had our annual Easter egg hunt inside the house. The empty egg (symbolizing Jesus' empty tomb) had the bigger prize while the others had coins for a trip to frozen yogurt place. Can you tell Im sick of all of the candy in the house?

It's pretty nice that you're still interested in decorating eggs for Easter. , I challenged both of you to get your creative juices going by giving you both plastic eggs and a bin full of "decorations." This is what you came up with. Phoenix, I bet you're guessing that you made the one with the single eye but it was actually your ate's.

We didnt stop there, on another day we dyed some eggs and had you pick a character to make. Phoenix, you went for a pirate egg and Piper a queen egg.

Happy Easter 2012!

Spring Break this year was different for us Pi than Phoenix's. I've mapped out our week only to find out that all you wanted to do was bake, make fruit salad (shown below) and make crafts. You werent interested in playdates, going to museums or visiting friends. You are a true home body. Spring Break was nice and relaxing. We spent tons of time together and I loved it.

Fruit Salad you made for our boys.
