A Trip to Kids Space

We went to Kids Space today with your Auntie Tia and Celeste. Before going, we were playing with Celeste at her house. Im so proud of how you shared with her and how nicely you played with her toys. You are such a mild mannnered baby girl. After an hour of playing there, we went to Kids Space and started with the water play. I love how very timid you were with getting wet and was so focused on learning the cause and effect of water. You were also extremely cute when you tried to be a grown little girl by trying to go down the slide by yourself. You also had a great time by the river. You tried to use the rocks as a slide. Then we needed a much needed break so we changed you guys and got some snacks. Your Auntie Tia gave you fries and you really liked it. You ate it while playing with the trash can and your stroller seat belt. Finally, we went to the early childhood room but by that time your were taking the blanket toy and laying on it. It was time to go. You were so tired that you fell asleep on the car ride to your grandparent's house. When you got there, you wouldnt go to them. It was as if you were attached to my neck. But after awhile you warmed up and played with the Buddha statue and played with your grandpa outside at his garden. We left after awhile to meet your other grandma and you had Indian food for the first time. You didnt like it. Then it was time to call it quits but we had a stop over at your grandma's to give you a bath. As we were leaving, you held on to your Pooh-San and didnt want to let it go. So you slept with it in the car. It was a fun filled and exhausting day baby girl. I hope you had fun.

The Tantrums Begin

You had two tantrums today. It was quite shocking to me because I've never seen this side of you. Anyway, the first one was when we were getting the mail and I know how much you love holding the key and trying to open other people's mailboxes. So, as usual, I let you have a go at it while I suffer through the 90 degree heat outside. As you were having a ball, after 15 minutes I couldnt take anymore, so I told you to say bye bye to the mailbox and picked you up. As you squirmed about as I was holding you, you decided to take the keys and throw it on the floor. Being 8 months pregnant with your baby sibling in the Riverside heat was excruciatingly painful and having to bend over and pick up those keys made it even worse. As I held on to the keys you snatch it from my hands only to throw it once again on the ground making your point clear that you were unhappy with me. I took you inside the house crying and I sat you down and told you that what you did was wrong and that we do not throw keys on the ground. I'm sure none of it went through but its more for my sanity. You had a good cry, but I didnt give in. Your second tantrum was after your gymboree class. You didnt want to get in your car seat and so you decided to take your ipit (hair clip) off and throw it on the ground. This throwing thing getting kinda old and mama is not so happy about it. I hope you stop it soon. I still love you, if not even more because of your funky personality.

Yesterday, after only having napped for 30 minutes in the morning, you were hysterically crying in your crib during your afternoon nap. I knew you were tired so I gave you 5 minutes to see if you would stop crying on your own. After 3 minutes, I knew the cry was different from your usual whine. So I got you only to find that you have made yourself vommit all over your clothes and bedding. Im so sorry honey. I felt so bad. So, you slept with me for 2 1/2 more hours in mommy and daddy's bed. It was wonderful. After sleeping with you for an hour I was done. I just watched you sleep. You move around so much. Then, I was quite bored but couldnt seem to reach my magazine on the floor. So, I just laidthere with my bladder full as you had your foot pressing on it and as your baby brother or sister all uses it as a squeeze toy. I thoughts of just peeing on the bed. Gross! Finally, I was able to manage to grab the remote control and watched the food channel on mute. Not so entertaining. Then you woke up on your own as I laid there pretending to keep my eyes close all the while watching you as you poke my nose and say "mama." You're so beautiful.

Big Commitment

Blog world here we come. This is the biggest commitment we've ever had to face since having a toddler occupies most if not all of our time. However, Joey and I felt that it is important to savor and remember our daughter's toddler moments for it truly is the most entertaining and definitely the funniest so far. Please dont feel compelled to read these blogs because they are written mostly so that Piper will know about her toddler years and how lucky we are to have her in our lives. However, some of the stuff is pretty darn entertaining.
